Alberto Tacón

Alberto Tacón is an Environmental Biologist, specialist in management of protected areas, with 15 years of experience in conservation and local development in southern Chile with different institutions in the public and private sectors, grassroots organizations and landowners interested in conservation. My personal interest is to enhance the social functions of protected areas, such as common goods that contribute to human welfare and the sustainable livelihoods by the rural communities neighbors. Together with others profesionals and citizens, we created a civic organization that promote the creation of Urban Nature Reserves and the protection of wetlands in the city of Valdivia.
