Christopher Sellers

Christopher Sellers is a professor of history at Stony Brook University, who writes and teaches about the environmental histories of cities, suburbs, environmentalism, health, and industry, and their contemporary legacies. Most recently, he is the author of the award-winning Crabgrass Crucible; Suburban Nature and the Rise of Environmentalism in Twentieth-Century America (University of North Carolina Press, 2012), and co-editor of Dangerous Trade: Histories of Industrial Hazard across the Globalizing World (Temple University Press, 2011). He is now writing on, among other things, the historical relationship between suburbanizing, race, and environmental politics around Atlanta.
